Meet the Clarks

Roger & Barbara Clark
Serving in Lesotho

Roger and Barbara Clark and their children, Carol, Thomas and Robert, are missionaries with Mission Aviation Fellowship serving Lesotho, Africa. As a maintenance specialist, Roger provides aircraft maintenance for the program. The Clarks previously served in Mali, Africa. A highlight from their time in Mali involved helping with the construction of an eye clinic in the remote village of Yelimani. “This sort of practical building project was just the sort of thing I‘d been equipped for and had been dreaming of helping with for years.”

Roger was born in Southern California. His mother led him to the Lord when he was six. He attended Community College in San Luis Obispo, CA, and Bible school in Cannon Beach, OR. He received a B.S. in Aviation Maintenance at Moody Bible Institute and holds an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License.

Barbara was born in Denver, CO, and raised in Boulder. During her sophomore year in high school, she attended Campus Crusade for Christ's Student Venture. She filled out a comment card stating she wanted more information and was led to the Lord a month later by one of their representatives. Barbara also attended Bible school in Cannon Beach, OR. Before she became a mother, she worked in publishing and at a Christian bookstore.

Roger and Barbara met as summer staff at Mount Hermon Christian Conference Center in California. They were married in June 1991.

1 John 3:18-20 are special verses for Roger. “Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.”

For Barbara, Psalm 119:11 is important to her. “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” “Because I live in a Muslim country, with far less church options, I find it difficult to ‘absorb’ myself with he Word of God. However, I also find it important to do so. Therefore I strive to make this verse a reality in my life.”

To fund the worldwide ministry of MAF, God is faithful in providing loyal, generous ministry support from His most caring people. He has called the men and women of MAF to serve Him in a unique way. He is also calling people like you around the world to play a special role in the ministry of MAF.

You are invited to become a ministry partner with Roger and Barbara in this strategic ministry. Please prayerfully consider involvement with them through prayer or financial support.
