We are from Southern California and arrived in the Czech Republic in November 1997. Prior to coming here Jill worked as an elementary school teacher and Brian in business. After studying the Czech language for two and a half years in Prague, we moved to a town of about 25,000 called Havlíckuv Brod, right in the center of the country. Here we work with a small group of believers helping to do evangelism, primarily making contacts through teaching English. Our goal for our second term is to work directly with this church, or with people from this particular group, to begin a church-planting project in a town or city that is currently lacking an evangelical witness. Brian is also working with the Alliance for Saturation Church Planting in an effort to train and equip Czech nationals to be planting new churches. Our long-range goal is to be involved on both a local and national level to see many churches planted.
